My Approach

My coaching brings strength training, nutrition and recovery into one practical plan. I consider your goals alongside your work schedule, training experience and recovery, then adjust the approach as we learn what works for you.

Coaching built around you

I don’t give everyone the same programme. Your starting point, schedule, equipment and training experience all influence the plan I build.

Before we start, we discuss what you want to achieve, what you’ve tried before and what you find difficult. From there, I create a clear structure and explain how it supports your goals.

Personalisation continues as we work together. We review what’s working and adjust what needs to change. The coaching plan we agree on determines the level of support, including calls and progress reviews.

I use structured protocols to guide training, nutrition and recovery. They give us a consistent way to plan and review progress, with room to adapt to your circumstances.

Building strength step by step

Bodybuilding gave me a strong foundation in discipline and consistency. Those principles still influence how I coach.

I focus on clear exercise technique, a manageable training schedule and steady progression. Depending on your starting point, progress might mean lifting more weight, completing more repetitions or feeling more confident with an exercise.

I also consider how demanding the programme is alongside the rest of your week. The aim is to find a level of challenge you can recover from and build on.

Nutrition that fits your routine

A nutrition plan needs to make sense in your daily life. Your food preferences, work schedule and time for preparing meals all matter.

We build an approach around your goals and those practical details. I explain the reasoning behind it so you can understand your choices and become more confident with them.

As your circumstances change, we review the plan together. I want nutrition to feel manageable, with habits you can maintain over time.

Why stress and recovery matter

Work pressure, poor sleep and personal responsibilities can affect how you feel and what you can manage. These are important parts of the coaching conversation.

When stress continues over a long period, it can contribute to sleep difficulties, headaches and digestive problems. It can also make finding energy for exercise and maintaining eating habits more difficult. Everyone experiences stress differently.

That is why I pay attention to how your week is going. If a demanding week at work leaves you sleeping poorly and struggling with your usual sessions, we might shorten your workouts or reduce the number of sets. We review how you’re feeling and build the workload back up when it makes sense.

Using HRV to understand recovery

When you have a compatible wearable, I can help you track heart rate variability, or HRV, the small differences in time between your heartbeats.

We look at your pattern over time alongside your sleep, energy levels and how training feels. This gives us extra context when deciding whether to keep your training as planned or adjust the workload.

One low reading doesn’t automatically mean you need to rest. HRV is one piece of the picture, and how you feel matters too. You don’t need a wearable to work with me.

Thinking about the years ahead

For me, longevity means taking a longer view of training and health. I think about the strength, movement and habits you want to maintain as you get older.

Your current goals are part of that picture. We work towards them while developing a routine that can adapt through busy periods and different stages of life.

This perspective shapes how I balance effort, progression and recovery. I want training to remain a useful and enjoyable part of your life.
